The trip to Pennsylvania took us through Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and finally PA! I added a few new states to my “States I’ve Been To” list. Those would include North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. And do you know which states I hated? North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan! Michigan was the biggest offender. I’m sorry if you live there, but good grief it was a horrible drive! Never let me go there again!

In Montana, white crosses along Route 2 mark where someone has died. This dangerous 70 MPH section of road has already taken 17 lives. SLOW DOWN!

There were plenty of stormy skies but they mostly stayed away. They were fun to watch from a distance though.

There’s an underground tour in Havre, Montana. This shot was taken while on the tour looking up at the sidewalk. The purple glass squares are inset in part of sidewalk.

Cordwood Pete and Tamarack. The legendary brother of Paul Bunyan. There was supposed to be a statue of Pete and Tamarack somewhere in this town, but we couldn’t find it! Maybe someone stole them?

We became very fond of Paul and Babe. We even bought a Paul Bunyan and Baby the Blue Ox salt and pepper shaker set.

In Cloquet, Minnesota is a gas station designed by famous American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. We HAD to stop there for gas. There are restrooms and a sitting area above the actual gas station. I took advantage of that.

These poor guys were locked up! Stop vandalizing people. Knock that shit off so everyone else can enjoy giant things!
AMAZING photos Sarah!! What camera/lens did you use on your trip? It all looks so fun, but that brothel sounds interesting.
Thanks! I mostly used a wide angle lens which is awesome! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007U00X0/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but I also used this one….http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-1-8-Camera-Lens/dp/B00007E7JU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375590982&sr=8-1&keywords=canon+50mm
and occasionally this one… http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ALLMI8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The wide angle is really good though! I was iffy about it at first, because it wasn’t a Canon, but it’s totally worth it!
Thanks for the info! I had a sigma lens but I wasn’t pleased with it. It had some front focusing issues so I returned it, so I am a bit leary of trying another one. By the looks of your pics though, it seems to be a non-issue with you. Maybe I’ll look into that one specifically. The one I got was a 28mm prime. I have the Canon 50mm lens. Isn’t that little lens great? It does such a great job for such a cheap lens. Anywho, I don’t think it matters much what lens/camera you have in your hands because your pics are always great! 🙂
This trip looks like a BLAST! I don’t do well driving long periods of time, but for something like this I could manage!! So much sun and blue skies!! Glad you guys had a great trip!
I tend to just fall asleep during long periods of driving, but this time we got out of the car fairly often. Not too many naps for me, but at least I saw more while traveling!
