route 9, mt. baker, and mountain loop road…all in a day’s drive.

this past sunday herc and i took another little trip. the plan was to go up route 9 for a bit. i didn’t know what a “bit” was, but i figured it would be a three or four hour jaunt. but like all of the other trips we take this was an all day event. it was a great all day event though! we left the house around 8:00 am, stopped at mighty o for a healthy breakfast and then beat cheeks to route 9. we arrived home at 8:31 pm after driving exactly 400 miles. how is that for planning?

we usually go through many small towns on our adventures, but this time that wasn’t really the case. it was a nice change to go through mountain passes, snow, green forests and down old dirt roads. we do that on most of our other trips, but to do that without the towns was fun.

eric posted a gallery of photos from the day. he narrates our adventure too. click here to see the photos!!
